Become A Volunteer

Step 1

Determine if the Rappahannock Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is a good fit for you by completing a volunteer self-assessment.

Step 2

Attend a volunteer orientation at the Chapter to learn more about our services and volunteer opportunities.

Step 3

At the orientation you will complete a volunteer application and indicate your volunteer interest area(s).

Step 4

After orientation, you will be contacted to schedule an interview with the volunteer coordinator and department representative to discuss your volunteer interests. At the interview, you also will receive details about how to complete the required volunteer background check.

Step 5

Once you and the department both agree that a position is a good placement, you become an official registered volunteer! You will complete any appropriate training and begin your rewarding career with the American Red Cross!
